Why I love my wife . . . because of the way she Loves God and Loves Others . . . when I met Nikki she was so passionate about caring for and making sure that her brother Brad was taken care of and had the greatest life possible, I just had to know more of this girl. She is a women of determination and commitment. She sticks to the commitments she makes even when things are hard and are not the ways she would have planned. I love the way she believes in me and is fully committed to following the plans God has for our life! Even when they don’t make sense to the world around us.
To be honest . . . I think I love her less sometime because of her love for me and more for her love for others. The way she loves my kids, the way she loves her patients, and the way she loves the unlovable - not because of themselves but because she believes everyone deserve to know the greatness of being loved. I am falling more and more in love with my wife everyday . . .

Not sure how much you have been watching the news and how much play everything in Louisiana is getting, but they are still in a lot of trouble and need a lot of help. I have been working on a new blog . . . There are a few different reasons but I would love to get some feedback. I will still use www.sebren.info as my URL. If you are one of the people who has chosen to enter sebren.blogsome.com then you will have to learn something new if I go through with this change. Also, if you have me linked on your blog then you will have to make changes, but first - let me make a final decisions. In the last few weeks I have worked my last day at a church who loved me and my family and offered for me to stay forever, my mom has had to file for a divorce to save herself, Nikki’s car has broken down 4 times and been towed 2 time, we sold her car and bought a new one, and Nikki’s brother Brad (who we have been primary care-giver for 8 years) died. I have friends who are without work who love and serve God faithfully.

In all of this I know God is in control and is to be honored if we keep him as the center of our everything . . . I found this video and just thought it was a perspective shifter and might help if you need to be reminded (I know I often do). Remember, the father is big enough for the questions and even welcomes them from his children . . . Jesus questioned!

The bible teaches us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). I did this for many years, even at the cost of hurting others, because I missed the part about LOVE! Actually, with great regret, I would even respond to my wife at one point in our marriage when she asked me - “do I look fat in this”, with - “no fatter than you actually are” . . . I wasn’t trying to be a jerk, my thought was - you, me, and everyone are the size we are and we look like we look. I have learned a lot through the years and I have such a loving and teaching wife who understands my desire was not to hurt her but to be honest. She has taught me about speaking the truth in LOVE part. Here is a video for all the guys who are like I use to be.

We don’t do funerals we party like it’s 1999 . . . because we know and understand that the ones we love who have a relationship with God through Jesus are more alive than ever once they leave this earth! Today we had a Celebration of Brad’s life and partied with friends and family. We had the place decorated with his braves gear and everyone wore their favorite braves team member jersey . . . other than me - I had a # 35 PUCKETT braves jersey on. It was Brad’s favorite shirt and Nikki wanted me to ROCK IT out for Brad. Here is the Celebrate Brad Video we showed today . . . it is 11 min. long - so grab some popcorn, crack jacks, hot dog and a soda.

Nikki’s brother Brad who has lived with us on and off for the past 8 years died yesterday. One of the first things Weatherly said to me after we were able to talk about Brad being in heaven and being completely healed is, “Now Brad can dance like me”.

Nikki has been his personal nurse since she could walk and has the spirit of care for others because of that relationship. Weatherly (our 4 year old) has had a special relationship with Brad also. He has been there her whole life and from day one they have been running mate. Watching tv and playing together. Please pray for the family as we go through the transition of Brad being missing from earth as he is with Jesus in heaven. Remember Nikki and Weatherly specificly as they will have a harder transition.
